Education for Refugee Children & Youth
The objective of this activity is to increase equitable access to education for children and youth affected by crisis and conflict, especially refugees. The USAID contribution covers funding gaps identified by UNICEF, including needs from Regional Refugee Response Plans. These funds will support UNICEF’s education programmes in refugee-hosting countries. UNICEF is increasing equitable access to education for children living in eight refugee-hosting countries: Egypt, Cameroon, Chad, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda. A particular focus will be on expanding access to education for refugee children, children living in communities hosting large numbers of refugees, and vulnerable children.
