Participant Training and Exchanges

Providing training that improves skills and builds knowledge is a key element to support human and institutional capacity development around the world.

To ensure maximum impact and long-term sustainability of development work, training is provided in the skills and knowledge critical to the achievement of a country’s development goals. Participants may be teachers, community members or other professionals from the public and private sectors.

From 2011 to 2015, USAID supported training for over two million people across all program areas and sectors. Most programs are short-term technical trainings, study visits and leadership development programs, but a limited number of longer-term academic degree programs, non-degree research and other training programs are also supported.
