Recommendations on Key Competences for Lifelong Learning

The aim of the review was to update the recommendation to ensure that it reflects political, social, economic, ecological and technological developments since 2006. In addition, the review looked at the experiences in competence-oriented education, training and learning as well as ways to further foster basic skills, key competences development and overall promote competence-oriented teaching and learning across Europe. The Commission adopted the proposal for a new Recommendation on Key Competences for Lifelong learning on 17 January 2018.
