USAID REEP Education Data Trend Snapshot: Current State of Education in Sub-Saharan Africa
The Education Data Trend Snapshot provides key data depicting the current state of education in sub-Saharan Africa. While data indicates that access to education in region has improved dramatically over recent years, with net enrollment for primary education and at the lower secondary level both increasing, the Education Data Snapshot also illustrates challenges facing the region, such as with achieving gender parity for enrollment, on-time student enrollment, student retention rates, and the number of out-of-school adolescents, among other metrics. The Snapshot also provides data on disparities and inequality in education attainment by sex, income, and living location in the region.
