Digital Literacy Briefers
The rapid development and adoption of digital technology is transforming industries, governments, economies and societies. The strategic use of digital technology in USAID’s programming should help us achieve our development and humanitarian-assistance outcomes. Any USAID activity that involves a digital component inherently involves digital literacy.
Digital literacy provides the ability to meaningfully, responsibly, and safely participate in the digital ecosystem— skills that are foundational to a successful digital development activity. By not adequately investing in digital literacy, USAID programs with digital components might increase digital divides and introduce unanticipated harms.
