Morocco E-Takwine Learning Management System (LMS) Study
Final Report
Social Impact Inc. conducted an exploratory analysis of the Moroccan Ministry of National Education, Preschool, and Sport (MOE)’s e-Takwine digital platform. Morocco’s long history with distance learning began in the 1970s, including more recent launches of learning management systems (LMS)s, with e-Takwine for pre-service teachers in 2016 and the new e-Takwine Tanmia in September 2021.
The study objectives included: a) examining the new e-Takwine LMS in order to discern capabilities, gaps, and recommendations in the LMS’s performance and operation; b) assisting the MOE in developing an effective platform for providing distance education to multiple types of life-long learners within the education sector as well as initial training for teachers; and c) assessing the human, institutional, and infrastructural capacity of the e-Takwine platform hardware and software, and make recommendations on how the MOE can respond to increasing demand in distance education in the short- and medium/long-term.
The analysis aimed to support the MOE and relevant parties to implement their strategy and capacity for distance education of pre-service teachers and life-long learning for multiple education stakeholders who would benefit from improving the digital education capacity in the Moroccan education system.
