Planipolis is a portal of national education plans and policies and key education frameworks and monitoring reports.
It provides a single entry point to official education resources for national policy makers, donors and partners.
Planipolis first launched a decade ago after the 2007 Education for All Global Monitoring Report (now called the Global Education Monitoring Report) lamented the fact that “no international database of key education planning documents exists.” The IIEP Library sought to fill this gap and brought together on one accessible website policy documents and education plans from around the world. Many of these kinds of documents could previously only be consulted in the concerned country and in print only.
Today, Planipolis features some 2300 documents, covering all of UNESCO’s Member States. This achievement is the result of intensive collaboration between IIEP and its vast alumni network as well as with local partners. The IIEP library team also carries out regular monitoring work to ensure that Planipolis is consistently updated with new resources.
