Adapting Open Source Solutions to Unlock Literacy for More Children
On February 19, All Children Reading: A Grand Challenge for Development (ACR GCD) and Curious Learning hosted a webinar detailing how open-source literacy solutions and content can open opportunities for more children around the world to learn to read. Curious Learning Founder Stephanie Gottwald shared how her nonprofit adapted Feed the Monster, an open-source Arabic literacy app funded through ACR GCD and the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation’s (Norad) EduApp4Syria prize, into 47 languages.
Watch the webinar recording above to learn:
- How creating open-source educational content is vital for opening literacy to more children around the globe;
- The features that made Feed the Monster a prime solution for adaptation;
- How you can localize open-source literacy apps and other learning content for children in low-resource contexts.
