Partnership for Education - Complementary Basic Education
This multi-donor effort aims to strengthen the government of Ghana’s capacity to improve learning outcomes and equitable and inclusive education, increase government and social accountability in the education sector, and enhance instruction at kindergarten and lower primary schools. This activity supports the reduction of out-of-school children in Ghana by more than five percent nationally and by more than fifteen percent in the North. It also supports the complete management and financial handover of the community-based education program to the Ministry of Education. Goals are to improve student achievement results in Ghana in reading and mathematics by strengthening pre- and in-service teacher training and oversight; develop teaching and learning materials; empower community members and parents to increase accountability from education authorities, and strengthen education systems and decentralized school management structures.
