Business Growth Initiative (BGI)
This activity works to increase the productivity, investment, employment and market share of targeted non-agricultural, non-extractive value chains in Kyrgyz Republic. The program aims to increase competitiveness among key sectors, improve the business enabling environment and strengthen human capital. In the targeted value chains (garments, tourism and construction materials), the activity focuses on employees, firms, associations, and supporting institutions. The activity works to strengthen the relationships among input providers, buyers, market intermediaries, brokerage and logistics services, certification bodies and others, to support the target value chains. It also provides skills to new entrants into the labor market, particularly those required by the targeted value chains. It also supports reforms for tax administration, licensing and inspections, civil air safety improvements and other important reforms.
