Bantwana Waache Wasome (Let Girls Learn)
This activity in Tanzania will improve enrollment and retention of adolescent girls in secondary school and influence negative perceptions about the value of educating girls. The Activity will be implemented in the Mara and Arusha regions of Tanzania in four priority districts, including Karatu District, Musoma Municipal Council, Musoma District Council, and Tarime Town Council, targeting girls aged 13–19 in secondary school and girls who have dropped out of secondary school. The activity is rooted in the principle of putting girls at the center of creating their own agency, while simultaneously addressing the intersecting social norms and economic barriers that exist within families, schools and communities and restrict girls’ access to education.
