Policy Making in Education to Face School Failure
The challenges placed by COVID-19 over the education system have prompted discussions of a wide range of issues in the Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) region. One of the most important is how to face the loss of learning opportunities because of the transition from in-classroom to online modalities, which threatens to leave behind the most vulnerable and could increase their drop-out rates, and reverse the gains made towards universal access to education.
In this context, the LAC Reads Capacity Program will showcase the findings of their study The Automatic Promotion And The Improvement Of Education: A bibliographic revision of the automatic promotion in Latin America and the Caribbean. After the presentation, a panel of three regional experts will comment on the study in light of the context of the region and share their reflections and recommendations for public policy based on the current situation.
